We just joined the world of GPS. I know, better late than never.
But since I was going to be driving around L.A. by myself this last weekend, in unfamiliar areas, my husband thought the time was right to dive in and by a GPS.
This is what I have to say about that:
I have finally made friends with "Lee" the American English Male voice. After being annoyed by both an American Female voice and a British Female voice. But Lee hasn't let me down getting me where I need to go, even though he says "right" in a barely understandable way.
What do I want?
I want a voice that sounds like Matthew McConaughey. Currently his voice is wasted on beef commercials. And it would be put to much better use keeping me company while I drive.
Just sayin'.

- My best friend and I have always said we are the normal ones - it's everyone else with the problems! At least it makes us feel better, even if it might not be true. I'm the forty-something mother of a teenage boy and a black lab mix, married and living in the Pacific Northwest where I grew up. Hubs and I lived on Maui when we met and we often dream of moving back some day. In the meantime, I write about life. A little of this, a little of that. I love humor and probably complain too much. But that's just because the world around me isn't 'normal', like me!

My car came with GPS on the dashboard. It has a very annoying female voice. I wish they would program these devices to allow you to choose the voice you want. Or better yet, to record your own voice and then it uses that to speak directions.
