When I saw the topic for this week, "Family Tree", I wondered what I could do? Looking around, I realized that unfortunate events of recent years (losing both my husband's parents in 19 months) left us with many family mementos. So, while not a traditional family tree, here are some representations of a few branches on Hub's side of the family. :)
Link up with Stasha at The good life for Monday Listicles. It's a different topic every week - follow along or create your own!
1. Family Crest
2. Hub's grandpa's metronome (the classical cellist):
3. Hub's Grandma's first place golf award (sorry for the blur):
4. Hub's grandpa's top hat:
5. Hand knit baby blanket by Hub's grandma:
6. Hub's dad's walking stick - one of a collection:
7. Hub's mom's Italian Charm bracelet (grandkids, teapot, chocolate, mah jong, tennis, British flag, angel, cross, children's birth stones - represented all she loved)
8. Hub's grandma's travel hangers - name applied before she was married:
9. Hubs. He loves the Chicago Cubs & Wrigley Field. Loves.
10. The Boy.

Happy Anniversary to Ally and hubs! I love your Monday Listicles. Family mementos have so much personal history. I don't have anything but a couple pictures of my grandparents but I cherish them.

What wonderful family mementos and how luck you are to have these things! I LOVED that metronome from the classical cellist grandfather and the TOP HAT - and its box, WOW! Those are FANTASTIC. Ok and the golf spoon. And the blanket...and...!!

Nice! I love seeing people's treasures - the things they choose to hold onto say so much. Happy Anniversary!!!
Love all these pictures! My mother-in-law passed away last summer, and we're the kids who ended up with all family mementos (which we love). My husband and I were talking yesterday after I did my post about the fact that we have so much awesome stuff from his side of the family. We have our family crests that we found hanging over our mantle :)
Happy anniversary to you!
Such a neat way to tell about your family tree...I love seeing your momentos...my daughter and her boy would love to have a wrigley field like that!
