I have no idea what's up in your head, but these changes your-a-makin', are a-makin'-me-crazy.
See, it used to be that when someone commented, I got an email with their comment, and the option right in the email of whether to publish, delete, mark as spam or go to Blogger's comment moderation page.
I liked it that way. It made my life easy. Why? Because I could hit reply and respond to comments by email.
No longer. Now I have to go to the moderation page, which is all well and good, but there is no access to emails. I don't have enough time in my day to go looking on their blog to see if they might have their email listed.
I know some of you respond to comments within your comment section, which is also an option. My problem with that is that I don't really expect someone to come to my post twice to see if I responded. Most of you barely have enough time to visit blogs once, let alone twice. (Though let it be known - there are a few of you that do it this way, and because I know you do, I do come back and go through the last few posts to check responses. Most of the time, anyway)
So back to Blogger and their changes for the sake of changes that really aren't improving anybody's life...
Blogger, I have one word for you: WordPress.
It's actually two words, but they smash it together into one. Just go with it.
For those few of you that comment regularly, I have your emails already saved, so those I can pull up to reply.
And for the rest of you dear readers, if I don't respond directly to your comment, please know that I am thrilled with the fact that you took a few minutes to read and comment on my little blog. I will try to respond by doing the same for you and your blog.
And if there is a solution I'm missing, which is

Hi Ally; I started blogging with Wordpress, and then moved to my own website. I always just replied to comments right on my blog. But if people would rather I email them, that's not a problem, as long as I have their email. I'll have to look into how you do that. I'm not sure. Of course, as soon as I figure it out, things will change.
I don't get many comments anyways but I do like to reply to them.
I'm a self-hosted Wordpress user and I use the Disqus plug in on my blog. I love it! I switched to the plug in because regular Wordpress was throwing comments into the moderation queue when it shouldn't have. I had mine set to "first comment must be approved", but someone who'd commented before was getting thrown into moderation, which I didn't like.
Having just moved to Wordpress I can say I am loving it much more then I ever did Blogger. It has become a lot easier to work with then it was when I first started and was just learning.
Gotta admit, I moved to Wordpress 2 years ago and enver regretted it...Come on over, the water's fine...
As someone who loathes the new blogger but thinks all Wordpress templates look beige and boring, I feel your pain.
However, I still get delivery of my comments to my inbox. Re-check your settings. I had one of mine incorrectly set and a commenter pointed it out to me.
OK, so I've seen the threaded replies on Blogger blogs but you're saying that the reply is only made on the blog but not emailed as well. That would make me crazy, so I see why you are crazy. lol
