If you are a parent of young or youngish children, the answer is simple. You MUST organize in January to find room for all the
But for the rest of us, you might assume the deep seated need to clean out and organize in January comes from New Year's resolutions, or promises to get life in order for the new year. Or it's possible you wait until spring and to do your 'spring cleaning' then.
Me? Well I'm afflicted with a disorder that makes me want to do it pretty much all the time. It's like a roller coaster all year long where at the high points I simply cannot crush the desire to clean things out and get rid of stuff. During the low points I'm just thinking about and planning the organizing and removing of stuff. Unfortunately, I am a complex mix of sentimental hoarder and someone completely unattached to material goods all rolled into one big confused ball. So there's always something to get rid of. But that's another story.
Back to my point. The reason we all find the need to organize and clean stuff out in January is this: Back in the beginning of December, we pulled the Christmas stuff out of wherever it was stored. We actually rented a truck and took all our junk to the dump over the weekend. It feels so good to get rid of the clutter and it always amazes me how much we accumulated since our last dump visit. Crazy!
I'm a compulsive "cleaner-outer". Is that a word? I don't think so. Anywho, I cannot stand too much clutter. Right now, for example, my closet is driving me nuts because I can barely walk inside anymore. It's time to get rid of stuff and junk.
Well, I don't know where it comes from, but I'm sure finding myself throwing stuff away and wanting to make changes these last few days.
I love it!!! I am too lazy to look for things. Everything should have its place and be there in that place when I need or want it. Like you, I am constantly organizing and purging or thinking and strategizing about it. As soon as the next paycheck comes in I'm renting a dumpster. No joke. The BIG industrial kind. *happy claps*
Love this! Really, I'm just lazy. :) Being organized is just my cover. LOL.
Love it. Isn't it amazing how Christmas ornaments never quite fit back into the box they came from :)
