Buh-Bye

I'm going on va-cation, I'm going on va-cation, I'm going on va-cation. (Please read that while imagining me singing it, while doing a little dance with hand motions and everything. On second thought, please don't imagine that. That's just scary. Just imagine me happy.)

Well, it's a a mini vacation anyway. Saturday to Wednesday.

While I have a good amount of family right here in the Northwest, I also have family all over the country. My sister lives in Texas. (Despite everything being bigger in Texas, she is smaller than me. Just thought I'd point out that out.) Which means my nephew lives in Texas. Which means that darn little guy is growing like a weed and we've hardly seen him. He's 4-1/2. I haven't seen him since he was 18 months and my son hasn't seen him since he was 8 months! It's not right. So I set about fixing it.

The Boy has the whole week off from school next week, so I'm taking him to Texas. We even got our tickets free on mileage. Well, not free, but for $5, I call that free. I kind of invited ourselves. You know, I emailed her months ago and said, "Hey, so are you going to be around this week? I was thinking I'd bring The Boy down." You know, like families do. Then I invited our dad and stepmom, too. Kind of like this, "Hey, I asked Dad if they'd come, too." Like only families can do. Then my dad called a few days ago (they live in Reno) and said, "Hey, we're bringing your nephews, A & D, with us!" (Because our brother and his family live in Reno, too. But our brother and his wife are going to stay home and live it up without kids for the weekend.)

So we're all crashing in on them. The Boy and I are staying until Wednesday. The rest of them are leaving on Monday. Fortunately, they are cool with it. Phew!

Our high temps at home for the next five days are going to be 47-49 degrees. In Austin?

Okay, for the record, those thunderstorms and 78 were only supposed to be a shower and 75 as of yesterday, but whatever. It's only a 30% chance. I'll take the 78, even if it comes with some booms. And Sunday and Tuesday look perfect.

Yep, I'm going on va-cation. Even if it's a little one filled with family members. It's the perfect break for a Northwest February! (Next to a trip to Maui of course, but that just wasn't in the cards - Hubs has to save his vacation time for later in the year.)
